Now not all movies are for everyone, but here’s a breakdown you can use to see if this is for you without any spoilers. This is an end of the world film and as the name suggests, the moon is on a collision course with the Earth. This is one of the biggest budget films that Lions Gate has ever put out. The story is really good, and the actors all have wonderful chemistry with each other. There is a plot twist that if you really pay attention to, you would notice in the beginning of the film. There is supposed to be a trilogy to this series, however with the box office numbers being as low as they were to the actual cost of the film, 2 things will happen. A. The company puts out the 2 sequels out straight to dvd for a massive budget cut which might make them worse or just okay. B. The production company completely scraps any vision for any sequels and this is a one and done film. Can this film succeed knowing there is no sequel? Yes, however some people might be like myself, and want that closure that we just will never get.

This movie was a very interesting one. I love it when someone come up with a very different take for movie this one was great. It had a really plot. Loved it. Also was a good price.

Perfect popcorn movie. Not super great, rather over-budgeted, and a great premise but mediocre story. Great effects though. Turns out the moon is an alien construction to watch over the human race, the descendants of a greatly similar humanoid race that is now extinct. This same race also constructed an Artificial Intelligence that became self-aware and decided that the humanoid race, or any similar organic race, was and is unnecessary. When the Apollo missions landed on the moon they unknowingly slightly damaged the mechanism of the moon, awakening the hostile AI. Things are quiet until years later when a shuttle mission comes too near the moon and the AI attacks. Seems the AI only attacks when it senses active technology and organic life in close proximity. Only one sole astronaut sees the AI attack, but when the mission returns to Earth no one believes him and he is disgraced and his life is ruined. What’s unfair about this is that NASA has video proof about the AI’s existence but just threw this poor guy under the bus and left him there. Now years later the AI is fiddling with the moon’s innards and is sending the moon slowly but surely barreling to Earth. Now a conspiracy theory nerd, the disgraced astronaut and his former fellow astronaut must limp to the moon somehow to stop the catastrophe. Even after all this is hitting the fan NASA still will not admit that they knew something was strange up on the moon. The action is great and non-stop and the special effects art extremely good. The dialogue is at times corny, even silly. The acting is adequate; these people are there for a paycheck. What would have been cool is if one of the ancient humans have been in suspended animation on the moon as a guardian, and have been awakened to help the present-day humans. Not a great film but a fun ride. One should never expect much from this kind a film except two hours of entertainment. Not Casablanca, Citizen Kane, or Gone With the Wind. Just turn off your brain and enjoy.

This movie was something I wasn’t really expecting. It has some truly great SFX. My jaw dropped more than once while watching this movie. The storyline is decent overall, and it kept me engaged. Not sure if it was my tv or if it was the actual movie, but the sound was a bit low/soft. Even when I turned the tv up louder it didn’t improve much. I liked the twists though throughout the movie. It really does a good job at keeping you engaged and wondering what is going to happen next. I’d e interested in a “sequel” that follows up with how it ends.

This movie is mind numbingly stupid…truly one of the best B movies of all time!

It was really good.
